Peer Review Process

Nusantara: Contemporary Integrative Education Journal implements a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of all published articles. Every manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes a thorough evaluation by at least two reviewers with relevant expertise in the field. This process aims to assess the suitability of the manuscript for publication, maintain high scholarly standards, and enhance the credibility of the research.

The peer review process in this journal consists of the following steps:

1. Submission of Manuscript

Authors submit their manuscripts through the Open Journal System (OJS). To facilitate wider participation, submissions via email may also be accepted under certain conditions.

2. Initial Editorial Assessment

The editorial team conducts a preliminary evaluation to ensure that the manuscript aligns with the journal’s focus and scope. At this stage, the manuscript is also checked for structure, formatting, and compliance with the author guidelines. Basic quality screening is carried out, including identification of significant methodological issues.

3. Plagiarism Screening

All manuscripts that pass the initial screening are checked using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin) to ensure originality and adherence to academic integrity standards.

4. Evaluation by the Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-in-Chief assesses the manuscript’s originality, significance, and relevance to the journal. Manuscripts that do not meet the required standards may be rejected at this stage without proceeding to peer review.

5. Reviewer Assignment

The handling editor invites qualified reviewers based on their expertise, research interests, and absence of conflicts of interest. The journal adopts a double-blind review system, ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the process.

6. Review Process

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript critically, focusing on aspects such as originality, methodology, theoretical contribution, clarity, and relevance. Based on their assessment, reviewers provide recommendations:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

7. Editorial Decision

The Editor-in-Chief and handling editor consider all reviewer comments and recommendations to make a final decision. If necessary, an additional reviewer may be invited to resolve differing opinions.

8. Decision Notification

The editorial decision is communicated to the corresponding author along with anonymized reviewer comments. Authors are expected to revise their manuscripts accordingly and provide a clear response to reviewers’ feedback.

9. Revision and Final Decision

Authors submit revised manuscripts through the system. Revised papers may be re-evaluated by reviewers or assessed directly by the editor, depending on the extent of revisions. Once the manuscript meets all requirements, it will be formally accepted for publication.

10. Copyediting and Publication

Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, proofreading, and layout editing before publication. All published articles are made available online as open-access content, freely accessible to readers worldwide.
